Hey Alex,
I have a question regarding your show in Munich, Germany last Friday. I wasn't there myself (since I'd have had to drive almost 5 hours to get there) but an acquaintance of mine told me that you guys played only new songs. The Wretched Spawn, Kill and Evisceration Plague, however, not a single track from your old stuff. Not even Hammer Smashed Face. The majority of the crowd obviously didn't mind (neither would I as it's probably thrill enough seeing Cannibal Corpse performing live) but he's been on a lot of your shows (you might even say he is some kind of veteran ;) ) and was pretty disappointed. Whereas the playlist you used at the Way of Darkness IV festival (02-03/10/09 in Lichtenfels, Germany) for example was great in his opinion.
So what's the reason for that? Why did you guys only play newer songs (which is apparently an unlikely behavior of you)? I heard you had to finish earlier or something like that. Has this anything to do with this?
Oh and a small question: Do you have any influence on where you play? Or is this solely the booking agency's doing? I'm asking because there hasn't been a single CC concert near my hometown which is kinda weird since I live right next to Kassel which has a population of 200,000 people and a shitload of metalheads in the surrounding region. And you normally play in towns of that size or even smaller ones (e.g. Dordrecht [26/10/09], Netherlands - 100,000 or Leamington Spa [01/11/09], UK - 50,000). |
