So Alex, seeing as I'm going to recording school in a couple months, I was wondering what you guys look for in a producer. Having worked with many reknowned producers, what was it that drew you to their studios in the first place? What are the pros and cons of working with each of the producers you've worked with in your career?

Also, when you hire a producer, do they usually bring a team of sound engineers in to work on the album too, or does a band have the authority to say "I want X engineer to work with Y producer to make Z sound?" Or do most producers you work with act as producer/engineers and handle both the duties themselves?
